Monselice
The Castle Cà Marcello (named after the family that owned it until 1835) can be reached via the scenic via del Santuario which, starting from Piazza Mazzini, borders the former 18th-century church of San Paolo. From the courtyard you can admire the facades of the 13th-century Palazzo Ezzellino and Palazzo di Marcello in Gothic style. Through the via del Santuario, you reach the Villa Nani Mocenigo, decorated with 500 grotesque statues and depictions. The old Cathedral dedicated to Santa Giustina, built in the 13th-century, contains frescoes from the 15th-century and, above the altar, a polyptych by the Venetian school. Through the via delle Sette Chiese, one reaches, at the end of the climb, a series of six chapels decorated by Palma il Giovane, crowned by the Church of Saint George in the area of Villa Duodo. This church houses the relics of 25 Christians martyrs.
